I began my career in Bologna, studying genetics of human ageing. I have worked at UCL in London, where I developed the analysis pipelines for the NGS facility and led the Bioinformatics at the Centre for Translational Genomics. I moved to Aarhus University in Denmark as Associate Professor in Genomics and Bioinformatics, where I led the Bioinformatics analyses in Bipolar Disorder and Schizophrenia for the iPSYCH consortium. When I left academia, I worked in QIAGEN Bioinformatics, as part of the Global Product Management team for the CLC portfolio for a couple of years. I am now Head of Bioinformatics at NIBSC, Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency in UK.
